What does B0081 actually mean?

The side impact sensor that tells the airbag module a side collision is happening is not sending a valid signal. This is the sensor that triggers a side airbag rather than the deployment loop itself, and exact sensor placement and wiring varies by manufacturer.

The code sits in the driver side impact sensor area and is reported by the comprehensive component monitor. It names the circuit or the condition where the computer saw a reading outside its expected range.
